Delivered at our Thruxton (Andover) base, our Programmes combine skidpan training and skid steer training to master winter skid avoidance and vehicle handling—perfect for high-mileage and novice drivers, as well as those with incidents or points, in cars, vans or trucks.

Including:

  • Comprehensive fleet driver assessment and training sessions featuring pre- and post-training tests

  • Safety workshop, including dedicated spatial awareness training

  • Skid-pan winter skid-avoidance driving exercises

  • Slow-speed paddock exercises paired with our fleet driver risk training to enhance control and confidence, supporting your broader commercial driver risk-management strategy

  • (Ideally partnered with a pre-course on-road assessment)

HIGH RISK DRIVER COURSE

Venue: Thruxton (Andover) skidpan and workshop suite

Vehicles: Client’s own work vehicle

Duration: 1 day. 18 drivers maximum per day

Qualification: Certificate of attendance, personal assessment sheet with Low/Medium/High risk score, pre and post course knowledge test result

This course should be offered in partnership with the on-road assessment/intervention.

The full day course includes workshops, skid/loss of control and speed/spatial awareness; all designed to compliment company safety rationale and provide true understanding of real-life situations that could result in vehicle damage, serious injury or worse.

  • 360 degree awareness (Observation Without Limits)
  • Anticipation (what-if…)
  • Slow speed, spatial awareness exercises
  • Demonstrate that the driver causes loss of control
  • Demonstrate it can and WILL happen to ANY driver
  • Understand safety systems, vision, distraction, ‘space is safe’
  • Understand that preventing loss of control is crucial
  • Understeer/Oversteer cause and correction
  • Stopping distances, vision, anticipation, concentration, awareness
  • Distractions
  • Fatigue, drink/drugs
  • Working with the public
